About the Framingham Public Library

The Framingham library system consists of two branches--the Main Library in downtown Framingham, and the McAuliffe Branch in Saxonville.

  • The library's 291,100 materials include 245,600 books, 23,300 tapes and CDs, and 21,400 videos and DVDs.  We subscribe to 398 magazines and newspapers.

  • In FY 2008, library users checked out more than 828,612 items from the two library branches, got answers to over 100,568 reference questions, and had the opportunity to attend 664 programs, from preschool stories hours to author visits.

  • 40,825 people held Framingham library cards in June of 2008.
