Wireless Internet Access in the Library

Wireless Printing
How to set up your laptop for printing at FPL
· Printing is available only at the Main Library (Downtown).
· We have a black-and-white laser printer, located on the third floor, at the Reference Desk.
· Printouts cost $.20 per page.
· Staff members are unable to troubleshoot printing issues with your laptop.
Printer specifics:
· The printer is a Brother 2070N
· The printer is configured on the network at IP: 192.168.160.191
· You may need to alter your firewall settings to allow your laptop to access the printer.

Installation under Windows Vista
1. In Control Panel, go to Hardware and Sound, and select Printers
2. Click Add a printer
3. Choose Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer
4. Your laptop should automatically locate the printer at IP address 192.168.160.191
5. Assign a name to the printer, such as “Framingham Library Downtown Printer”
Hints:
· Do not print a test page unless you are willing to spend $0.15.
· Remember to select this printer when you are ready to print.

Installation under Mac OS X (Instructions will differ for versions of OS X other than 10.3)
1. In the Go menu, select Applications
2. Open Utilities
3. Double-click Printer Setup Utility, and Click Add
4. Choose Rendezvous from the list
5. Choose the Brother HL-2070N, and then confirm with Add
Hints:
· Do not print a test page unless you are willing to spend $0.15.
· Remember to select this printer when you are ready to print.

Installation under Windows XP
1. In Control Panel, go to Printers and Faxes, and select Add Printer
2. In the Add Printer Wizard, select Local printer attached to this computer, and remove the check next to Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer. Click Next
3. Select Create a new Port, and in the drop-down box, choose Standard TCP/IP Port. Click Next until you reach the Add Port screen.
4. In Printer Name or IP Address, enter: 192.168.160.191 You can let the Port Name fill in automatically. Click Next, then click Finish
5. You must now select the printer type. Although the printer is a Brother HL-2070N, printing generally works fine if you select the built-in driver, choosing Brother as the Manufacturer, and the Brother HL-2060 as the Printer, and then click Next.

If you follow this driver link then you’ll be able to skip steps (a)-(f), below (start at step g)
a. Go to http://www.brother-usa.com/downloads/Default.aspx
b. Select Printers (HL and MW series)
c. Select model HL-2070N, and click View Download
d. Click HL-2070N Downloads on our Online Solution Center
e. Choose Drivers, then Windows XP, and your language, and then click Search
f. You can use driver version 3.19 - click More Information

g. Select Download
h. Read and accept the agreement (if you agree), and download the file to your laptop
i. Create a directory on your Desktop, called Brother Driver
j. Double-click the file you downloaded, and Unzip the contents into Brother Driver
k. Back on the Install Printer Software screen, click the button that says Have Disk…
l. Browse to the Brother Driver directory, and Open the BROHL04B.INF file displayed. Then click Next.

6. Assign a name to the printer, such as “Framingham Library Downtown Printer” and click Next
7. Choose Do not share this printer, and click Next
Do not print a test page unless you are willing to spend $0.15. Click Next, and you are done.
Hint:
· Remember to select this printer when you are ready to print.
