Holds Pickup & Returns
When you receive notification that your requested items have arrived, you may pick them up in one of two ways:
- Option 1. Pickup inside the Library. Go inside the Library and find the Holds shelf. Your materials will be filed under your last name. Check out your materials at a self-check station or at the Circulation Desk.
- Option 2: Curbside Pickup. Make an appointment for curbside pickup through the Capira reservation system, or call us at 508-532-5570 (Main Library) or 508-532-5636 (McAuliffe Branch) to make the appointment for you. Keep reading for more information about Curbside Pickup.

How to Schedule Your Pickup
Have you received notification that your materials have arrived and are being held for you? If so, make an appointment to pick up your items by signing in to the Capira reservation system using your library card number and PIN associated with your library account and then choosing a pick up day and time.
Note: The reservation system will not work unless:
- You received email or mail notification that your items are being held for you, or
- At least one item in the Holds section on your library account has a status of "Ready."
Hours for Curbside Pickup (Both Libraries)
Monday and Tuesday: 9am-2pm
Friday and Saturday, 9am-2pm
When You Arrive
Main Library, 49 Lexington Street
Park anywhere in the parking lot on the Lexington Street side. There will be a table near the Main Entrance on Lexington Street outside on the landing. Your items will be in bags with your name and already checked out to your account, so you can take your holds and go! If you need staff assistance when you arrive, please call 508-532-5570 and press 1.
McAuliffe Branch, 746 Water Street
Park anywhere in the lot and walk over to the tables near the front of the building. Your items will be in bags with your name and you can take your holds and go! If you have questions, please call 508-532-5636 and press 4.
Please deposit your returns in the drop boxes on the Lexington Street side at any time; there is one box at the bottom of the ramp leading from the parking lot, and another box on the landing outside the main entrance.
