Virtual Book Discussion: Dear America: Notes of an Undocumented Citizen by Jose Antonio Vargas

Jose Antonio Vargas was born in the Philippines and sent to the United States when he was 12 to live with his mother’s parents. When he applied for a driver’s license at age 16, he learned that he was undocumented. Dear America is his story—but also the story of many others—who are caught in a system without a clear path to citizenship. This is a moving story about courage and determination and uncertainty in growing up undocumented.
