    Lunchtime Learning Series: South American Myths & Cosmology: A Focus on Food

    A presentation of Pre-Colombian stories of cosmic agriculture, resource management and geographic expansion from the Andes Mountain region. Focused mainly on the Inca Empire (modern day Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Ecuador) and its predecessors, this talk will be accompanied by original paintings illustrating scenes of Andean laborers, their duties and their deities. A question and answer session will follow and participation is encouraged.

    Samela St. Pierre is a Framingham based artist of Dominican and Peruvian descent. Mainly painting in watercolor and ink, her illustrations depict scenes of folklore, mythology and everyday life in South America and the Caribbean.”
