From Realism to Impressionism: William Merritt Chase

GUEST SPEAKER: Erika Schneider, Associate Professor, FSU
In connection to the MFA’s fall exhibit, the lecture focuses on Chase’s career. In painting and pastel, Chase examined subjects from bohemian to Brahmin, fish to fruit, and marsh to meadow, while his style reflected Realism, Impressionism, and Japonism.
