Lifelong Learning Lecture Series: How Media Has Reshaped the US’s Political Landscape

Presented by Dr. Jon Huibregtse, Professor of History, FSU

Several revolutionary changes occurred in communications in the late 20th century. Most notably the growth of cable television and the rise of the internet have dramatically affected every aspect of life in the United States, perhaps none more so than politics. Professor Huibregtse will analyze how the rise of the 24-hour news cycle and social media have reconfigured the nation’s political landscape.
