Dark Summer Book Fest

A new Book Festival is coming to Framingham this summer! The first annual Dark Summer Book Fest invades the Framingham Public Library on Saturday, August 8th, 2026.

This one's for all the dark fiction lovers, whether your particular interest is crime fiction, romance, horror, fantasy, literary fiction, sci-fi, or any number of other things! There will be authors and books for all ages, from picture books to monster romance lovers.

Creating Graphic Novels with Ira Marcks

Two different workshops from award winning cartoonist Ira Marcks for teens!

In the first, learn how Ira plans, writes, and draws his books using the three essential elements of storytelling - characters, setting, and theme. In the second, design your own expressive cartoon characters.

Making Personal Zines w/ Robin Gow (Dark Summer Workshop)

For decades communities have used zines (mini self-published magazines) as a space for sharing ideas, personal stories, fandom obsessions, and dreams.

In this workshop we’ll learn a little bit about the history of science fiction and horror zines and then make our own!
