Join Art Educator Julie Harrold in an instructional step by step painting of a bird with cherry blossoms! Participants will learn to see shapes and utilize blending and layering techniques.  Painting done on an 11x14 canvas board with acrylic paint.  No painting experience necessary, dress for mess! Get a ticket from the Children’s Desk within 30 minutes of the program to secure your spot. Space is limited. Ages 8-12

Learn the basics of visible mending. Beginners welcome. I will teach six or seven basic stitches which can be used to mend almost any kind of textile. Bring items in need of repair with you so you can get started. Beginners can make a sampler using the stitches and techniques I will be teaching. All materials are supplied. Get a jump start on renewing and refreshing beloved  textiles.

Kinusaiga is a Japanese art form created by Setsu Maeno in the 1980's. Originally created by tucking silks into slits cut into wood, we will be creating our own works of art using foam blocks and scraps of fabric. Registration is required and opens on May 1st.
