Monday Matinee: The Color Purple (2023 PG-13 2h, 21m)
A decades-spanning tale of love and resilience and of one woman's journey to independence. Celie faces many hardships in her life, but ultimately finds extraordinary strength and hope in the unbreakable bonds of sisterhood.
Maker Mondays: Needle Felting
Learn the basics of needle felting and work on your own custom creature. Come once and make something simple, or come every week to make a larger creation!

Grades 6-12
Tone and Stretch
A variety of functional fitness exercises to tone core, upper and lower body muscles followed by stretches. This is a low impact class designed to be adaptable to participants’ different levels.
If you have NEVER attended this class, please register at this link: http://bit.ly/FPL-Exercise-Classes. If you HAVE attended any of our online exercise classes in the past, we already have your information, and you do not need to register again.
Girls Who Code (6th-12th grade club)
Girls Who Code Clubs are spaces where girls, non-binary teens, and any other 6-12th graders who support the Girls Who Code mission, can join our community of supportive peers and use Computer Science to change the world. When you join a Club, you will learn by reading excerpts from our books Learn to Code and Change the World and The Friendship Code, practice new skills by completing fun and simple online coding tutorials, and build community through interactive activities with the rest of your Club. Our 6-12th Grade Clubs encourage you to impact your community in a positive way through code. In order to build the skills you need to make an impact, you will learn how to code from our fun online tutorials and activities that will help you build animations, games, apps, and other things that you dream up! We have tutorials in Scratch, Python, Swift, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Technology will be provided.
PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED
There are two ways you can register. Teen must be registered prior to the first session, October 23, 2023. The program is cumulative so registrants are expected to attend all sessions.
- Register from home. Go to: hq.girlswhocode.com & click “sign up” to set up an account. Select “United States”' from the dropdown and enter your child’s birth date. Then agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Enter your email address to receive an email with parent/guardian information about HQ. Enter your child’s full name and create a unique username and a password. You will be redirected to Join Your Program and enter your child’s Club Code. 6th-12th Grade club code: MA51696.

Puzzle Swap: McAuliffe Branch
What to do with jigsaw puzzles you’ve completed? Swap them! Bring your puzzles to exchange with others. No puzzle to swap? Come anyway; there are always extras for you to take. All ages and levels welcome.
