Japanese Paper Theater: “A Very Special Friend” / “Um Amigo Muito Especial”
Enjoy a true story from an island in Brazil told in kamishibai format about a friendship between a human and a penguin that they rescued. Join us after for an activity about the life cycle of penguins.
Aproveite-se de uma história real de uma ilha no Brasil contada em formato kamishibai sobre a amizade entre um humano e um pinguim que ele resgatou. Junte-se a nós para uma atividade sobre o ciclo de vida dos pinguins.

Kids’ Paint Afternoon
Hang out and paint this summer scene on canvas. Juice and snacks provided! Receive a raffle ticket from the Children’s Desk within 30 minutes before the program starts to secure your spot. Ages 7+
We’ll paint “Cool Popsicle” by the artist Chelz Franzer.
2024 Olympic Games
Join us at the Main Library to view some of the 2024 Olympic Games. We will be live-streaming the games from 2-4pm in the Costin Room. You can view the Olympic schedule here.
Advanced Poetry Workshop
This class welcomes serious poets with experience who would like to participate for one or more sessions. We begin with a discussion of a topic in poetry. Poets may discuss their work.
