A variety of functional fitness exercises to tone core, upper and lower body muscles followed by stretches. This is a low impact class designed to be adaptable to participants’ different levels.

Girls Who Code Clubs are spaces where girls can join our community of supportive peers and use Computer Science to change the world. When you join a Club, you will learn by reading excerpts from our books Learn to Code and Change the World and The Friendship Code, practice new skills by completing fun and simple online coding tutorials, and build community through interactive activities with the rest of your Club. Our 3-5th Grade Clubs help build the foundational skills and understanding of computer science concepts and sisterhood through a reading discussion and coding activities. In order to build the skills you need to make an impact, you will learn how to code from our fun online tutorials and activities that will help you build fun projects to share with friends and family. Technology will be provided.

There are two ways you can register. Child must be registered prior to the first session, October 16, 2023. The program is cumulative so registrants are expected to attend all sessions.

This Women’s History Month, FPL is proud to present a new community project: The Framingham Public Library Suffrage Cookbook. Inspired by the Suffrage Cookbooks of the 19th and 20th centuries, which were used by suffragists to drum up financial and popular backing for their movement, this cookbook will contain recipes as well as short reflections on what women having the vote means to folks in our community. The completed project will debut in August in time for the anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment. Our 6-12th Grade Clubs encourage you to impact your community in a positive way through code. In order to build the skills you need to make an impact, you will learn how to code from our fun online tutorials and activities that will help you build animations, games, apps, and other things that you dream up! We have tutorials in Scratch, Python, Swift, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Technology will be provided.

Join the Craft Ladies and learn the art of iris paper folding. Iris folding is a card making technique that involves layering paper strips across a cutout shape following a printed template. The strips form a swirl shape similar to the iris of a camera, which is where the technique gets its name. Supplies and space are limited.

A variety of functional fitness exercises to tone core, upper and lower body muscles followed by stretches. This is a low impact class designed to be adaptable to participants’ different levels.

Girls Who Code Clubs are spaces where girls, non-binary teens, and any other 6-12th graders who support the Girls Who Code mission, can join our community of supportive peers and use Computer Science to change the world. When you join a Club, you will learn by reading excerpts from our books Learn to Code and Change the World and The Friendship Code, practice new skills by completing fun and simple online coding tutorials, and build community through interactive activities with the rest of your Club. Our 6-12th Grade Clubs encourage you to impact your community in a positive way through code. In order to build the skills you need to make an impact, you will learn how to code from our fun online tutorials and activities that will help you build animations, games, apps, and other things that you dream up! We have tutorials in Scratch, Python, Swift, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Technology will be provided.
PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED
There are two ways you can register. Teen must be registered prior to the first session, October 23, 2023. The program is cumulative so registrants are expected to attend all sessions.
Grades 6-12
What to do with jigsaw puzzles you’ve completed? Swap them! Bring your puzzles to exchange with others. No puzzle to swap? Come anyway; there are always extras for you to take. All ages and levels welcome.
